Ardán and the Galway Film Fleadh Event
Topic: Successful Application and Pitch Presentation.
After ‘New Frontiers: Phase 2′, I wanted to network further with the Games’ Industry here in Ireland. Around this time, I saw (via a Facebook post on their channel) that Ardán, an Irish Creative Media group based in Galway, were holding an introductory event for their ‘Wild Galway Games Initiative’. Interested, I travelled to Galway and met both the group, as well as dozens of Irish game devs in person. They were great, and were the exact kind of people I was looking to network with.
Several weeks later, Ardán were taking applications for pitching to publishing scouts at the Galway Film Fleadh event. Greatly interested, I submitted my application, and was later offered an opportunity to pitch to industry veterans: Bobby Wertheim, Henrik Jonsson and Paul Wilson. I loved the experience of pitching my game: Chaos Riders, and the feedback they gave me was invaluable.

It depends on your project, ambition and needs, but generally speaking, supports like these are worth applying for. If you’re successful, not only do you get assistance with your project and/or business, but you build upon your ‘CV’ for future applications.
