Topic: Successful Application and attendance to Gamescom.
Sometime after the Galway Film Fleadh event, Ardán announced they were taking applications for sponsored trips to Gamescom. While I was working on my Priming Grant at the time, I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to go to Gamescom. As such, I completed and submitted my application, and was accepted shortly there after!
There were a few things to organise for the trip, but Ardán were very professional and organised most of the trip for us. The only thing they asked of us was to create some of our own meetings over Gamescom’s MeetToMatch system, as well as document aspects of our trip at Gamescom.
Being taken to Gamescom by Ardán was a great experience, and a fantastic opportunity for networking in the Games’ Industry.

It depends on your project, ambition and needs, but generally speaking, supports like these are worth applying for. If you’re successful, not only do you get assistance with your project and/or business, but you build upon your ‘CV’ for future applications. If unsuccessful, you’ll still have your application, which can be iterated upon and used for follow-up applications, where the likelihood you succeed increases.
